Legend has it that in ancient times, when the world was first formed, all life emerged from the balance of the five elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. Guardians of this harmony were the Four Guardians: Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise.
